About the Event

Event Schedule

Start Times: The start times are staggered by route and intended to allow riders time to finish their ride and return to the winery between 12 and 3:00.  We’ll coordinate a group start for each route, but you’re welcome to head out on your own (after checking in) a little earlier or later so you can make it back within that 12-3 range.  Check with us before adjusting your start time, otherwise, we can’t guarantee the rest stops will be open when you get there.  Plan to arrive about 30 minutes before your route departs to register or check-in.

  • 6:00 am (moved up from 6:30): Walk-in registration & check-in for pre-registered riders opens.  
  • 6:30 am (moved up from 7): Full Tour Departs
  • 8:00 am: 3/4 Tour Departs
  • 8:00 am- 2:00 pm:  Mini Tour riders can depart on their within this time.
  • 9:30 am (moved back from 9): Half Tour Departs
  • 10:30 am: Quarter Tour Departs
  • 11:00 am (moved back from 10:45): X Tour Departs
  • 12:00 – 4:00 pm Rapscallion Brewery’s After Party at Brimfield Winery! : Food, drinks, live music, games. All riders get a free drink ticket. Food tickets must be purchased in addition to registration for the post-ride Taco/Burrito meal- there are a limited number left for purchase at the event. If you miss out, there will also be a food truck on site.

 

Remember to check back in at the registration table when you return to the winery so we know you made it.  In a rush, or decided to cut your ride short? Please call us so we know you’re okay- phone number provided on the Emergency Card at check-in.


Join Us After the Rides

Join us after the rides starting at 12 for the Rapscallion Brewery after-party complete with wine and beer, food, live music, kids crafts, and lawn games.

Food

Feast at the delicious taco & burrito bar from Nosh Catering after your ride. Riders must purchase a food ticket in addition to regular registration to enjoy the after-ride meal. Tickets are discounted to $15 for riders. There are a limited number of tickets left for purchase at the event. Free snacks are available to all riders throughout the day. There will also be a food truck if Taco tickets sell out.

Beer

Thirsty from your long ride? Use your drink ticket to get a refreshing hand-brewed beer from event co-host Rapscallion Brewery.

Wine

Use your drink ticket to enjoy a delicious glass of red, white, or rose wine from our talented host, Brimfield Winery.

Music

Live music from The House Tones starting at 12!

Games & Kids Activities

Coloring and games for kids. Lawn games for the kid in all of us!


Volunteer Opportunities

Sign up to be a volunteer at Tour Opacum to help with registration, rest stops and other activities, and then join your riding buddies for the after-ride festivities.  Help is also needed with pre-event prep the day and week(s) before the ride. Location & Directions

Brimfield Winery & Cidery

Located in the beautiful town of Brimfield, about 10 minutes from I-84 or the Mass Pike.

The Winery is right on Route 20.  You’ll see signs for the event, and a beautiful red barn. Follow the signs and event volunteers for parking.

  • From the Mass Pike (westbound): take Exit 9 for I 84 toward Route 20. Take exit 3B and stay on Route 20 West (7 miles)
  • From the Mass Pike (eastbound): take exit 8 toward MA-32/ US 20. Turn right onto MA 32 S (0.7 miles) and then turn left on Route 20 East, stay on Route 20 for 7 miles.
  • From 84 North: take Sturbridge Exit 3 towards Route 20 West. (7 miles)

Stay a While!

Enjoy all that this beautiful region has to offer by staying in one of the many great lodging options in Brimfield & Sturbridge. Stay over on Saturday night so you’re rested and ready for your ride on Sunday, or stay Sunday so you can really enjoy the post-ride festivities without having a long drive home! Or make a weekend of it!
